Class In Session: MAKE UP FOR EVER Shares Bold Trends

Over the weekend, we attended Make Up For Ever’s Sunday Brunch at their store on Robertson Blvd. in West Hollywood. Joseph Del Castillo, of Make Up For Ever cosmetics, graciously gave a tutorial on the trends for eyes this Spring.

This season, the company introduces the brand new Technicolor Palette that allows for lots of the new eye makeup looks with one compact. Pop the champagne, it’s time for Sunday brunch, Make Up For Ever style.

Beginners Guide:

“When playing with shadows, the brush you pick is important. A dense brush will give you more color; a fluffier brush will give you a more sheer wash of color”

Joseph’s Easy How-To for Using Colors of the Rainbow as Eyeshadows:

Black: A classic. Great to use as an eyeliner or creating a smokey eye

Yellow: I highly recommend using yellow shadow with brown shadow, they play well together.

Green: Great as an eyeliner. Use a brown eyeliner on the top and bottom of the eye, and then smudge green shadow over it.

Blue: Once again, easiest way to pull off this trend of bold eyeshadow is to use them as an eyeliner. Use a blue eyeliner and use the blue eyeshadow over the top of it to make it really pop.

Purple: Take an eyeshadow brush that is fluffy and do a wash of purple all over the lid. This particular purple is sheer so it goes on lightly, compared to the yellow, green and blue which are very pigmented.

White: Use it as a highlighter right below the brow bone and in the inner corners of the eyes.

Champagne: Use this again like the purple, all over the lid. It creates a polished yet natural look this way. Quick and easy.

“Use bright bold eyeshadows as a transition color, fading into a neutral color”

J’s Spring Makeup Suggestions:

MAKE UP FOR EVER Reboot Foundation: Great for summer because it doesn’t dry matte, it gives a dewy finish. It’s good for combination skin to dry skin.

Pro Sculpting Palette: Contouring your face makes a big difference. This is a powder duo that allows you to define and highlight areas of the face.

Aqua Brow: This is great for spring/summer, it’s waterproof! If you’re in a rush, you can take a brush like the shape of a mascara brush and swipe this over the brows and go.

Ultra HD Loose Powder: This is a bestseller and it’s very light. It creates like a blur in photos so the skin looks flawless. Almost like a actress with great lighting. Imperfections are diminished.
