Elle Macpherson's Green Juice + Recipes

We created 6 easy and delicious smoothie recipes with the necessary super-foods; after all, what’s simpler than throwing everything in a blender? We used an alkalizing green supplement and a plant-based protein powder from the brand WelleCo. Co-founded by supermodel Elle MacPherson and Dr. Laubscher, PhD, the products are all-natural with lots of organic ingredients. Elle uses the powders every day and swears they’re her fountain of youth.

Our good friend, celebrity chef Eugenie Mason, shared some tips that inspired these six recipes.

DETOX

D.G. Radiant Smoothie (aka daily greens)

This smoothie paves the way to show-stopping skin. To maximize the intake of greens, this recipe omits whole fruit. It’s a shot of everything the skin and body needs.

Makes 1

1 cup of filtered water (or use coconut water for a sweeter taste)

1/2 of a peeled cucumber

4 celery sticks

1 cup of fresh spinach

2 tbsp WelleCo The Super Elixir

1 teaspoon of fresh grated ginger

4 ice cubes

  • Combined all ingredients into blender
  • Blend until smooth
  • Pour into a glass
  • Enjoy 

So Fresh & So Cleanse Smoothie

This is the perfect choice after too much of a bad thing. The golden ingredient in this drink, pineapple, is a natural diuretic that helps the body eliminate water.

Makes 1

1/2 cup of filtered water

1/2 cup of coconut water

1 cup of chopped pineapple

1/2 of a green apple

3 large fresh basil leaves

1 teaspoon of fresh parsley

2 teaspoons of WelleCo The Super Elixir

Squeeze of lemon

4 ice cubes

  • Combined all ingredients into blender
  • Blend until smooth
  • Pour into a glass
  • Enjoy

The best thing before or after a workout is to nourish the body. These two smoothies include ingredients to naturally elevate energy levels and provide the protein to support all your hard work in the gym. Absolutely delicious.

Gymfuel Chocolate Cherry Smoothie

This smoothie is filling in a good way, and everyone who tastes it loves it! The frozen cherries with the WelleCo chocolate-flavored protein powder are so delicious together. In fact, it’s hard to believe it’s actually healthy.

Makes 1

1/2 cup of filtered water

1/2 cup of almond milk

1/2 cup frozen cherries

Half of a banana

4 walnuts

4 ice cubes

1 scoop of WelleCo Nourishing Protein

  • Combined all ingredients into blender
  • Blend until smooth
  • Pour into a glass
  • Enjoy

 

P.P.B. Fit Chip Smoothie

This smoothie is perfect before you are planning to do cardio, or for muscle recovery after the gym. The boost of magnesium is great for muscle/bone health and the fiber intake aids in removing waste. The superfood Cacao Nibs taste like bits of chocolate chips in the drink. Satisfying and simple.

Makes 1

1 cup of coconut milk (unsweetened)

1 ripe banana

1 tbsp of almond butter

1 scoop of WelleCo Nourishing Protein

4 ice cubes

1/2 tbsp of Cacao Nibs (set aside to add after blending is completed)

  • Combined all ingredients into blender (sans Cacao Nibs)
  • Blend until smooth
  • Stir in Cacao Nibs with spoon
  • Pour into a glass
  • Enjoy

Cini Skinny Smoothie

Studies have found that cinnamon can reduce and prevent tissue damage and inflammation. In addition, the smell of cinnamon is known to boost brain activity. This drink is heaven in a glass.

Makes 1

1 cup of coconut milk (unsweetened)

1 scoop of WelleCo Nourishing Protein

1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon

4 ice cubes

In case the dreaded cold disrupts your life (or perfect on a morning before a flight!), this mix of ingredients packs a punch with key antioxidants, immune boosters and probiotics.

The Cold Kicker Smoothie

A friend of mine use to order this drink at a popular smoothie shop every time she felt a cold coming on, but a closer look at the ingredients revealed a lot of sugar. We managed to create the same great taste in a healthier version.

Makes 1

1 cup of orange juice

1/2 of a banana

1/2 cup of peach greek yogurt or non-dairy yogurt (we used Maple Hill Creamery Greek Yogurt- Organic Peach)

2 teaspoons of WelleCo The Super Elixir

1 cup of ice cubes

  • Combined all ingredients into blender
  • Blend until smooth
  • Pour into a glass
